Daniel Ricciardo Confirms F1 Retirement with No Plans to Return

Daniel Ricciardo officially concluded his Formula 1 career in 2024 and has stated that he has no intention of returning to professional racing.

A viral video, filmed at Los Angeles International Airport, has been circulating online. In the clip, a fan spots the former Australian driver and approaches him for a brief, impromptu interview. Ricciardo, smiling, obliges and reflects candidly on what it meant to achieve his childhood dream of becoming a Formula 1 driver:

“It was my dream since I was a kid, and when it came true,I thought, ‘Unbelievable!’”

He continued:

“It all happened so fast. I genuinely appreciate everything I was able to achieve and am incredibly grateful for such a long and rewarding career.”

When asked whether the adrenaline rush of racing is truly irreplaceable, Ricciardo all but confirmed he will not be returning to the cockpit:

“I suppose, in the second half of my life, I’ll look for other ways to find that kind of thrill.”
