Liam Lawson secured third place in qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, achieving the best result of his career. For the Racing Bulls driver, this was both a pleasant surprise and an important step forward, though the New Zealander admits that the main challenge awaits him on Sunday. His teammate, Ayumu Hadjar, also confirmed the team’s competitiveness by setting the eighth-fastest time.

I knew it would be difficult, but I never expected it to unfold in this way.The car has been very competitive from the beginning of the weekend, and I am grateful to the team for their excellent work. But the most important test is still ahead tomorrow’s race.
When raindrops appear on the visor and the track becomes slippery, driving the car is extremely challenging. The tires still maintain their temperature and provide grip, but you must fight against the instinct to ease off and instead continue to push.”
