Flavio Briatore Predicts Formula 1 Teams Could Be Worth $10 Billion

Flavio Briatore believes the value of Formula 1 teams will continue to rise rapidly and could reach $10 billion within the next few years.According to the Alpine executive advisor, investor interest in Formula 1 teams remains exceptionally strong. As an example, he pointed to ongoing discussions over the potential sale of a 24% stake in Alpine currently owned by investment firm Otro Capital. The proposed transaction values the team at approximately $3.2–3.5 billion, which Briatore said highlights the remarkable growth in the value of Formula 1 teams over recent decades.Briatore recalled that when he was involved with Benetton, the team was valued at around $80 million. Today, however, Formula 1 teams are worth billions of dollars. He added that, according to financial analysts, the value of leading teams could climb to $10 billion within the next three to four years. He also noted that Alpine's current valuation represents nearly half of the market value of Renault, which is currently estimated at approximately $8.3 billion. In Briatore's view, this demonstrates just how valuable a Formula 1 team has become as an asset for a major automotive manufacturer.
