Hollywood actor Damson Idris, who portrayed Joshua Pearce in the film F1: The Movie, has become a Global Ambassador for Formula 1 after signing an agreement with the championship.
In his new role, Idris will help bridge the world of motorsport with the broader cultural and entertainment landscape. He will attend several Grands Prix, contribute to the creation of content, and support major promotional campaigns aimed at attracting new audiences to the sport.
Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali noted that the actor had already played an important role in promoting the sport through the film and has now officially joined the “F1 family.”
Idris said that he has always been inspired by the combination of technology, speed, and precision that defines Formula 1, and that he is proud to become part of this world and represent the sport on a global stage.
