Lando Norris Claims Victory in Rain-Soaked Season Opener in Australia

The first race of the season has concluded, with McLaren’s Lando Norris emerging victorious in a dramatic and rain-affected Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.Red Bull’s Max Verstappen secured second place, while George Russell of Mercedes completed the podium in third.

Heavy rain accompanied the event at Melbourne’s Albert Park Circuit, adding further challenges for the drivers. As the formation lap began, RB driver Isack Hadjar lost control at Turn 2, spinning and crashing into the barriers. The rear of his car sustained significant damage, forcing the French driver to retire from the race before it officially started. As a result, the race start was delayed by 10 minutes.

The race was marked by an intense battle for the lead between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. Despite the pressure, the British driver held his ground and did not yield to his rival, ultimately taking the win.

Fellow Briton George Russell claimed third place, delivering a strong result for his team. Alexander Albon finished fourth, while Kimi Antonelli secured fifth place in an impressive showing.

Rounding out the top ten were Lance Stroll, Nico Hülkenberg, Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri, and Lewis Hamilton.
